Wild Wise Sooke is a volunteer-based educational program designed to help reduce human-wildlife conflicts. Originally built to address issues involving bears in our community, WWS has expanded to educate the public on local wildlife in general. The key to coexisting with wildlife is managing attractants. WWS does many community educational presentations, attends local fairs and festivals and does school visits to spread awareness. Wild Wise Sooke is a working group of Transition Sooke Town Society and works closely with the District of Sooke, BC Conservation Service, Sooke Bylaw, Sooke District schools and the general public.
